    What is waterless washing?
Waterless washing is the process of cleaning a vehicle without using water (hose and bucket). When waterless washing, you simply spray and wipe the aircraft, RV, or car the same way you clean inside your home. You don’t use a hose and bucket to clean your counter tops, appliances, and windows inside your home, you use the proper products to spray and wipe them clean, and it should be the same for your vehicles.

    What is Dry Washing?
First of all, Wash Wax ALL is a waterless cleaning product NOT a Dry washing product. Dry Washing is the process of taking a petroleum based liquid car polish or other similar product and applying it to a dirty surface. After you have allowed it to dry completely, you take a dry towel and buff the dried wax and dirt off the finish. Aero Cosmetics does not recommend using these types of products and methods of cleaning. This is a very aggressive way of cleaning. It can, and will, scratch, dull, and shorten the life of a finish. Polish should only be used on a clean, dry, surface and should only be used to repair damaged paint. One example of when polish should be used is when removing oxidation or scratches. Polish removes a small amount of finish every time you use it. Prolonged use of a polish can damage and shorten the life of your finish.

What are some of the benefits of waterless washing?
Waterless washing saves water and also saves valuable time by allowing you to clean your aircraft, RV, boat, or automobile without having to move it. You can wash and wax in the comfort of your hangar, garage, ramp, or driveway. As there is no excess water to leave water spots, you can clean the vehicle in sections at your leisure. You do not have to commit to cleaning the whole vehicle at one time. When you get tired of cleaning the vehicle, take a break and come back later to where you left off. There are no water spot issues when waterless washing so you can stop washing at any time. With the new Wash Wax Mop, there is no need for a ladder and you will not be polluting the environment with waste water runoff.

What does it mean by "Wet or Waterless Wash"?

It means that Wash Wax ALL can be use as a waterless aircraft, car, or RV wash or it can be sprayed on as you dry the vehicle after wet washing. Wash Wax ALL is a water based product and will work on a wet or dry surface. By spraying it on as you wipe it dry, you are waxing in the same time it takes to dry it.

How does Wash Wax ALL compare with Protect-All or Dri-Wash and Guard?

Wash Wax ALL is similar to those products, but is easier and safer to use because it is water-based and contains no petroleum products. This also allows you to wash and wax at the same time on wet or dry surfaces. Wash Wax ALL is also less expensive and available in a Degreaser version.

What is the difference between Wash Wax ALL Regular and Wash Wax ALL Degreaser?

Wash Wax ALL Regular is for light cleaning and waxing of painted or unpainted surfaces and windows. It is our biggest seller and is the product that you will use the most. Wash Wax ALL Degreaser is for cleaning engine exhaust areas, aircraft bellies, landing gear, car or RV wheels and tires, and engine compartments. The degreaser is also excellent for removing black streaks off of paint and gel coat. Degreaser works well on older more porous paint and gel coat. Wash Wax ALL regular is sufficient for all around every day cleaning and waxing. Use Wash Wax ALL degreaser for tough hard to clean areas.

How do I determine whether to use Regular or Degreaser?

The majority of the time, Regular is sufficient for all around cleaning and protection. However, if Regular does not seem to be cleaning as expected, this indicates the need for Degreaser. Wash Wax ALL regular leaves a better wax coating and is less likley to streak, so you may want to quickly go over the area with the regular after cleaning with the degreaser.

What do you use to apply Wash Wax ALL?

We recommend using any soft, clean, and absorbent towel. Cotton or micro fiber towels work best. We do not recommend a chamois as they leave moisture on the surface, are hard to wash, and tend to trap abrasive materials in them that can scratch the finish. For an example of a good towel try either the Aero towel or our Aero Diapers. .

    Is Wash Wax ALL corrosive?

No. Wash Wax ALL is formulated without caustic ingredients and conforms to Boeing Aircraft cleaning specifications both exterior D6-17487P and interior D6-7127M. Wash Wax ALL is safe to use on every part of the aircraft both inside and out. Including Aircraft plastic and glass heated windows. It is also safe on cockpit instruments and displays. Is Wash Wax ALL clear coat safe?

Will Waterless Washing Scratch The Finish?

Waterless washing will not scratch the surface when cleaning the normal dirt you get from everyday use. The typical type of dirt you will accumulate on your vehicle is road film (what you get after driving on roads and highways during rain), dust, finger prints, bird droppings, and tree sap. If your vehicle has been taken off road or driven down muddy roads, beaches, coastal areas, or has been exposed to road salt or anti-ice road gravel, we recommend that you rinse the vehicles surface with fresh water before waterless washing. Thoroughly rinsing the brushes used to wet wash vehicles at a car wash or at your home is also recommended. Abrasive material can get lodged in the wash brush or mitt and scratch the finish.

    return to top

What should I do if I have mud, sand or gritty dirt on the surface?

Rinse the vehicle off with water first, then spray on Wash Wax ALL as you dry it. Wash Wax ALL works on either wet or dry surfaces.

How far will Wash Wax go?

A quart of Wash Wax ALL Regular will clean 8 to 12 cars or 2 to 3 motor homes. A quart each of Wash Wax ALL Regular and Degreaser will clean every square inch of a single engine aircraft two (2) times (i.e. Bonanza, 182, Cherokee). It only takes a few ounces to keep the vehicle clean and protected between uses.
